The Center provides a way for people to give of themselves to help others. A wide
variety of skills is needed at the Center.

We welcome clerical workers, sales staff, food packers, distribution workers, clothing sorters, truck drivers, and anyone willing to share his or her gifts with others.

Must be 16 or work with a parent or guardian.

  CLOTHES CLOSET & TREASURES STORE:
Hours: MON: 10AM-1PM, 1-4PM OR 4-6:30PM
TUES-FRI: 10AM-1PM OR 1-4PM
SAT: 10AM-1PM
Tasks: Sales clerk/assist customers Tidy-up stores/straighten stock Inform and address concerns/issues with Coordinators
 
   
  CLERICAL:
Hours: MON-FRI: 9AM~NOON OR NOON-3:30PM
Tasks: Answer phone, filing, make copies, general "office" tasks Assist with MON-WED-FRI meal preparations if needed
 
   
  FOOD DISTRO (Located at 35 S Water St facility):
Hours: MON / WED: 8:30AM-3:00PM
TUES / THURS / FRI: 8:30AM-NOON
Tasks: Assist clients receiving monthly food distributions Maintain client confidentiality Register clients receiving food distributions Keep shelves restocked as needed Repackage donated food & maintain clean environment Check donated food for quality & pantry use Report concerns/issues to Food Pantry Coordinator
 
   
  FOOD PANTRY RESTOCKING (Located at 35 S Water St facility):
Hours: TUES 8:30AM-approx 9:30AM
Tasks: Make sure shelves are restocked Check donated food for quality and pantry use Pack bags for off site distributions
 
   
  FREE MEDICAL CLINIC:
Hours: TUES 5:00PM-approx 7:00PM depending on patient census
Tasks: Professional Medical Staff, Volunteer Receptionist/Intake Maintain strict confidentiality Volunteer greets visitors, assists in registration process and fom1 completion, answers phones, assists medical staff with clerical duties. Supervises offices and waiting area while patients are in building Secures building at end of Clinic hours
 
   
  TRUCK DRIVERS / UNLOADERS:
Hours: When needed (Most often 3rd Thurs AM)
Tasks: Assist with unloading trucks bringing food to Food Pantry or drive your vehicle to pick-up food for Frozen Food Programs
 
   
  INTAKE:
Hours: Mon afternoon, Tues & Thurs morning
Tasks: Interview clients or perspective clients to determine eligibility for pantry enrollment Maintain client confidentiality Complete initial intake packet with client Record & update information for Center Offer referrals when requested
 
   
  CLOTHING SORTER:
Hours: Tues or Fri, 8:30-11AM
Tasks: Sort through donation bags, hang the quality goods for sale in our used clothing store
 
   
  TREASURE SORTER:
Hours: Mon -Fri, Work schedule varies according to volunteer availability
Tasks: Sort through donations, prepare the usable items for carry up to store Dispose of non serviceable items
 
   
  LUNCH PREPARATION/KITCHEN DUTIES:
Hours: Mornings through lunch hour. As many days as you wish, Mon-Wed-Fri
Tasks: Call pantry or utilize food from our shelves to prepare lunch. Set it out on counter, notify working volunteers lunch is ready and clean up after. Keep kitchen area tidy and organized.
